Our Grandaughter, Shelby Marie Mahaffey FINALLY arrived on Tuesday, August 28, 2001 at 5:31PM,  Daina entered the hospital on Monday, the 27th, about 7AM and they induced labor shortly thereafter.  They broke her water about midnight and Tuesday was miserable for Daina.  At about 5:20PM they called for an Emergency C-Section ("Code 'C', Labor and Delivery") and people came running down the hall from every direction.    Shelby was delivered by Cesarean Section and weighed 8 pounds, 15.2 ounces.  

The good news is that both mother and daughter, as well as the rest of us are doing great.  Daina went home on Thursday the 30th, and Norma has been up and down the hill every couple of days to help Daina, Christian and Shelby with the transition. 

Both Daina and Christian have returned to work and Shelby has continued to grow like a weed. Check out the pictures.
