The Wedding
|
The Wedding of Daina Marie Dawdy and Christian Sean Mahaffey was held at 2:30PM on December 16, 2000 at the Chapel in Yosemite Valley. |

The
weather was absolutely perfect and the view from the
chapel was spectacular. |

Inside the Chapel, a harpist played for the enjoyment of the guests and the mothers were very happy that everything went smoothly. Norma and Dick were thankful that the weather didn't interfere with the occasion, as were Christian's parents Mike Mahaffey and Sandy Oberti.

The bride looked beautiful and, as it should be, was the focal point for the ceremony. The Groom's brothers, Mike and Jason were in attendance and friends at the wedding included Norma's best friend from High School, Margaret and Ron Delaney from Janesville, Wisconsin and Walt and Becky Kindergan from Asheville, North Carolina. Representing the Dawdy family were Dick's Aunt Jane and Uncle Bill O'Brien and their son, Dennis. Dick's brother Daniel and his wife Amy, from Lisle, Illinois were also kind enough to make the westward trek for the occasion. |

Norma's side of the family, the Markley's were
represented by Norma's younger sister Jean and her husband, Jim Ezell, Norma's older sister Nancy and her husband Ernie Pananganan and their sons, Michael and Tim Kalani Pananganan. Daina's friend, Julie Zagarolla was the Maid of Honor and
Christian's brother, Jason Mahaffey served as best man. |

Following the wedding, the reception was held at the Tenaya Lodge, just outside Yosemite National Park. It was the perfect time of the year and the Tenaya was decorated for Christmas. A cocktail reception was hosted by Mike and Sandy at 5:00PM and was enjoyed by friends and family alike. Daina's new sister-in-law helped with the wedding book and the Dawdy's and O'Brien's became reacquainted. After the cocktail hour, the party adjourned to a private room where the new bride and groom shared a table for two. The people around the Dawdy Table obviously had fun, as did members of the Oberti and Mahaffey family. Daina enjoyed a wonderful visit with her former co-worker in Georgia, Robin Flemming. The bride and groom tasted the cake , Dick and Daina enjoyed dancing to Butterfly Kisses, and the bride and groom danced for hours.
